ARCHIVIO J.M. Ribot

ARCHIVIO J.M. Ribot is a research-driven clothing project that reinterprets antique textiles, buttons, and vintage garments collected over many years, transforming them into contemporary clothing through traditional tailoring and handcraftsmanship.

Marks, fading, and irregularities found within the fabrics are regarded as part of the time each material has lived through. Rather than erasing this history, the project elevates it into garments that exist beyond the conventional cycles of fashion.

Production takes place in Italy, where each piece is gradually shaped through time-intensive handwork and tailoring techniques passed down through generations.

The name derives from a label bearing “J.M. Ribot” found inside a pair of 1920s French trousers discovered by the designer. Conceived as “the archive of J.M. Ribot,” the project continues to develop its body of work within this framework.
