Released last year as a Lounge Sai exclusive, the Baroque Shorts were met with such warm reception— even among those who had rarely worn shorts before.

This year, we’ve asked the brand once again to create a 2025 version, refined in both material and detail.

Baroque Shorts Gin and Tonic

181cm / wearing size S

While keeping the same silhouette as the original,
this version is made using a beautifully soft wool-linen broken twill sourced from the archives of a certain weaving mill.

The color is black.
Peeking from the hem is hand-dyed natural cotton, used as an accent.
The shorts are fully lined in black cupro for a smooth feel.

As with last year, the hems are left raw.

 Brass belt buckle—iconic as ever.
Zipper is YKK in gold.

And the horn buttons have been updated from last year’s glossy, rounded ones to matte black, with a flatter profile.

Two side pockets, two back pockets.
All double welted.

The belt loops have one edge subtly frayed, mirroring the raw-cut hems.
Details that are barely visible while worn— dand yet you can feel the care and precision behind them.
It’s those things that get to you.

The fabric moves gently with every step, and the more you wear them, the softer they become.

Perfect with a shirt.
Also works beautifully with a light jacket as the weather cools.

Once you put them on, it’s hard to go back.
They feel just right, not only for the heat, but also in how effortlessly they pair with the rest of your wardrobe.

If you missed them last year, or if—like me—you’re thinking of getting a second pair in a different fabric, this one is for you.

The heat still has a way to go, so I hope you’ll wear them into early autumn and beyond.
