The sumi-black jacquard of 52% linen, 45% wool and 3% nylon is a special fabric woven in Aichi.
Inspired by terraced rice fields, the dimensional fabric forms uneven, irregular ridges, just like terraced fields found in nature.
Another characteristic of this fabric is that, although its color and texture make it look heavy, it is actually quite light.

As the name Shoulder Free Loose Fit Jacket suggests, it is built with a special pattern that has no seam at the base of the sleeves, and its roomy body width and armholes give it a loose fit that suits any body type.
Since it was designed with a loose fit in mind, it also works well as autumn/winter outerwear worn over another jacket.
Unlike a coat, this length makes it a practical outer layer even for those who usually travel by car.
The lining is sumi-dyed silk cotton.
It is a beautiful fabric with an uneven, mottled sumi-ink color.
The buttons are ceramic buttons made one by one by Chinese artist Wu Jingwen.
Finished with a metallic-looking glaze, the thick handmade buttons tighten the overall impression of the piece.

Some people find the wide silhouette unfamiliar when they first look in the mirror after putting it on. However, its shape is something like a loose-fit jacket derived from a five-button coverall, so after a few minutes of trying it on, you will find it surprisingly familiar and easy to wear.
