Personal Favorites from DseconD and Aviva Jifei Xue's SS24 (Part 2)

The Osaka and Tokyo shows have wrapped up, and it's now the early morning of October 7th.

Starting today, we have a pop-up over this three-day weekend at acacia, a select shop in Shizuoka City.

Three weeks of back-to-back events finally wrap up after these three days, and from the 10th through the 15th we'll move to an online pre-order event.

So to everyone in Shizuoka, and anyone coming from further afield, we look forward to seeing you there.

And since we'd love for you to consider this season's SS24 pieces online as well, following on from the other day I'll continue introducing the items I personally loved.

Let's start with this one.

Aviva Jifei Xue Short Sleeve Cargo Shirt and Parachute Pants, worn

Shirt : Short Sleeve Cargo Shirt by Aviva Jifei Xue

Pant : Parachute Pants by Aviva Jifei Xue

Both the top and bottom here are by Aviva Jifei Xue.

Both are perfect for spring/summer, especially summer.

I'm still torn over my own order for this season, but this Short Sleeve Cargo Shirt is a definite order for me.

It's good enough that, right now, I can say for certain I'm buying it.

The fabric is a persimmon-tannin dyed gingham check, 100% linen.

And it has that exaggeratedly big Aviva silhouette, with wide sleeves that come down past the elbow.

So while it's technically a short-sleeve shirt, it feels closer to a mid-length sleeve, showing little skin, which should make it easy to wear even for people who normally stick to long sleeves in summer.

The body is generously roomy too, so air flows through nicely, and the dry feel of the linen seems like the perfect answer for summer.

This is a size M, and it's the size I'm planning to order.

The pants are 50% linen, 50% cotton, in a persimmon-tannin dyed glen check.

The hem cinches at the ankle too, and it looks like it would pair really well with sandals and bare feet.

As you can see in the photos, the glen check is made up of such fine lines that from a distance it's delicate enough to almost look plain.

But if it really were plain, I think it would start to feel a bit costume-like, and having the check is what strikes the right balance, letting it work as everyday fashion.

Next up is this piece, which I'd say is one of the highlights of this season without exaggeration.

Aviva Jifei Xue Reversible Windbreaker, worn

Jacket : Reversible Windbreaker by Aviva Jifei Xue

Shirt : Band Collar Shirt by DseconD

Pants : Baker Pants by Aviva Jifei Xue

A heavy jacket, or rather outerwear, that doesn't feel spring/summer at all.

Still, even ignoring the season, it has a coolness that really hits.

A thick cotton-hemp fabric, persimmon-tannin dyed with a wax finish.

It has the texture of leather worn in over years, with an incredible presence.

It's part of the spring/summer collection, but since it's obviously impossible to wear in that season, let's just accept that and wear it in autumn/winter instead.

Aviva says delivery runs from January to March, so there's a chance it'll arrive right in the middle of the season and be ready to wear immediately, so it's fine (?).

And true to its name, the Reversible Windbreaker is, well, reversible.

Aviva Jifei Xue Reversible Windbreaker, reverse side

The reverse side is the same fabric as the short-sleeve shirt introduced above.

The front side has a double zip, while this side uses buttons.

But the zip is reversible too, so if you're serious about breaking the wind, you can zip it up and then button it as well.

That serious cold-weather spec really makes me want to ask, do you even need that in spring/summer? But whatever, it's fine, it looks cool.

Reversible items tend to sacrifice how good the other side looks, and you often end up only ever wearing one side, but with this one, both sides are great.

The design makes you want to wear it either way, and that's exciting.

There's a tag at the neck on the reverse side, but if you ask to have the tag attached inside the pocket instead when ordering, it won't feel like the wrong side when worn reversed, so if you'd like to order online with that spec, please let us know in the order notes.

And finally, last one.

Styling with the DseconD Long Coat

Coat : Long Coat by DseconD

Shirt : Single Pocket Shirt by DseconD

Pants : Cocoon Shaped Pants

Hat : 6 Panel Bucket Hat by DseconD

All the photos so far were taken in Osaka, but this one was shot in Shizuoka by Kawamura-san of acacia.

This season's Long Coat is a light grey check in linen and virgin wool.

It has no lining, so it's great worn casually with the front left open, in spring or autumn temperatures, right around now, in fact.

I love this shape and ordered it for both SS23 and FW23, but this time the fabric takes a turn and leans more casual than before.

It's a casual fabric, but the straight silhouette and pocket details still keep it looking refined.

I imagine many of our customers already own a lightweight coat in a dark color, so why not switch things up with a pattern like this?

And the Single Pocket Shirt worn underneath, which I already covered in my last post, is just as good as ever.

This kind of shirt is never a problem to have more of, so if you're looking to add to your everyday shirt collection, I'd love for you to order it in your favorite fabric.

So there you have it, once again, I've shared my personal favorites.

As I mentioned at the start, we'll be in Shizuoka for the next three days starting today, and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there.

And for those farther away or unable to make it, please do join us online.
