Thank you so much to everyone who came and placed orders at the SS24 pre-order event that kicked off in Osaka the other day.
DseconD, which we've introduced for so many seasons now, still feels as solid as ever, but everyone also responded really well to Aviva Jifei Xue, which was essentially making its first appearance this time — and that makes me very happy.
The three days in Osaka really flew by, and with barely a breath in between there's already the Tokyo event, followed by the event at acacia in Shizuoka — these three weeks feel like they'll be over in an instant for me.
Now, as the title says, I'd like to introduce a few pieces I personally got hooked on this time.
What I'm posting here is only a portion — there are plenty of other cool pieces too — but for now I've tried on the ones that I want the most, or that I'll probably end up ordering something from myself, so I hope you'll take a look ahead of time.
First up, this look.

Top : Stand Collar Pullover Long Shirt by Aviva Jifei Xue
Pants : Draw String Pant by DseconD
Broadly speaking, Aviva's SS24 collection is built around white, brown, grey, black, and indigo, and among them, I personally really liked the brown pieces.
Among those, the pullover long shirt I'm wearing here has a Glen check pattern dyed in kakishibu (persimmon tannin).

In the look, it was worn underneath a jacket.
The check lines themselves are fine, so from a distance the pattern doesn't stand out too much, and it reads as fairly simple.

And as you can tell from the side, the front and back are different lengths.
Aviva's pullover shirt comes in two shapes: the Pullover Long Shirt I'm introducing here, and the Pullover Shirt. The latter isn't as long, and the front-to-back length difference isn't as pronounced either.
I think that comes down to preference, but personally I loved this overall length and the front-back difference.
And paired with the shirt are DseconD's new pants, the Draw String Pants.
They look cool and breezy, great for summer.
The pair I'm wearing is in the linen-and-bamboo fabric that was also used in SS23, but it seems only leftover fabric is available for these, so they'll likely be limited in number.
With the fabric the brand has on hand, we should be able to take around four more, combined with the Osaka orders, but after that it may be hard to get more of the same fabric — so if there's anyone who really wants to secure one for sure, please get in touch.
Next, this one.

Shirt : Double Pocket Shirt by Aviva Jifei Xue
Pants : Cocoon Shaped Pants by Aviva Jifei Xue
Both the top and bottom are Aviva pieces.
The shirt has a double pocket at the chest, in an original fabric of 94% organic cotton and 6% hemp printed with a phoenix arabesque pattern, in the colorway Ink, with shell buttons.
Ink is a color that can look navy or purple, bluish or greyish, depending on the light.
We haven't offered a pattern covering the whole garment like this before — what do you think?
Isn't it great?
The silhouette is wide and short (or rather, normal-length) — an oversized, boxy shape.
Patterns like this can easily head in a direction we don't want if the silhouette or sizing is off, but it's precisely because of this shape that Aviva's shirt lets even us, as Japanese wearers, pull the pattern off properly as fashion.

By the way, this shirt is a pullover, but swaps like making the Double Pocket Shirt in this Gold colorway, or the Pullover in Ink instead, are possible at no extra cost, so please feel free to choose whichever color you like.

And now, the pants.
DseconD has put out drop-crotch pants called Cropped Pants before too (not this season), but this is different — more in the image of a silhouette closer to the nikkapokka worn by Japanese scaffolding workers.
The material is 74% cotton and 26% hemp, in the color Burnt Kakishibu — persimmon-tannin dyed with a wax finish.
The fabric has some real weight to it, so honestly summer seems tough, but on the flip side it should work for spring and autumn, and depending on how you style it, even winter — so it'll probably see a lot of use.
Since we shot this in Osaka, I didn't have a spare pair of shoes, so I'm wearing the Guidi & Rosellini I had on for the shoot, but pairing the same tone throughout actually works surprisingly well, in its own way.
But pants like these are exactly the kind I'd want to pair with espadrilles or slip-ons — even though I said summer's a no-go, honestly I'd love to style them with something light, like bare feet in sandals.
So, keeping these pants on, let's move to the next one.

Jacket : Collared Deck Jacke by Aviva Jife Xue
Shirt : Single Pocket Shirt by DseconD
Pant : Cocoon Shaped Pants by Aviva Jifei Xue
This jacket is a dark-horse piece — I only noticed how good it was afterward.
Same kakishibu with a wax finish as the Cocoon Shaped Pants, with horn buttons.
The shape is like a single-breasted P-coat — a collared deck jacket.
True to Aviva's collection, it's oversized as usual, with wide arms and a roomy body.
At first glance it looks ordinary, but the back is actually where it really shines.

This back panel, cinched with elastic.
It's a jacket in front and something like a varsity jacket in back — a two-faced construction stitched together.
Well, this one's obviously off the table for summer, so in the other seasons — layered over a shirt a bit longer than the jacket — just throw this huge silhouette on.
Isn't this great?
What I'm wearing underneath is DseconD's absolute classic, the Single Pocket Shirt.
A breathable, lightweight fabric shot through with metallic fiber that glitters like spider silk.

You can't quite make out the fabric's structure this clearly with the naked eye, but zoomed in, the metallic fiber is easy to see.
This fabric is lightweight, perfect for spring and summer.
The beige tone isn't too bright either, so it sits well against the skin and is easy to wear — above all, if you're looking for a classic shirt that's simply a "normal, cool shirt," this is a piece I'd really want you to try on.
I was actually planning to introduce a few more looks, but this has gotten pretty long as I've been writing, so I'll stop here for now.
I'll introduce more recommendations another day.
I hope my recommendations are useful as a reference, but either way, seeing and judging for yourself is always best in the end, so please keep checking in Tokyo, Shizuoka, and online.
