A syrup as rich and sensual as plum wine
From the KAKIGORI (shaved ice) scent collection, Plum Cream expresses an ume plum syrup poured over shaved ice.
The concept is a syrup inspired by salted ume, that is, umeboshi, but combined with rum it becomes a rich scent that recalls plum wine (umeshu).
Though themed on a shaved-ice syrup, for Japanese people familiar with umeshu, many may find "a liquor perfume" a better fit than "syrup".
Many ume perfumes evoke "plum blossoms", but Plum Cream is a fruity, unique work that lets you clearly feel "the ume fruit".
Its heavier umeshu feel, with barrel and leather notes emerging, also makes it sensual.
Using the ice-inspired White Crush as a base and layering Plum Cream on top adds clarity and softness, making it perfect for spring and summer.

Story
KAKIGORI
All is fleeting and beautiful: a homage to that single moment
OBVIOUS turned to Japan, the "Land of the Rising Sun", and in particular to the culture of kakigori: snow from Mount Fuji was once carefully gathered to cool the upper classes in summer. Finely shaved natural ice topped with fruit, tea, syrup or condensed milk, this fleeting, poetic sweet is the very symbol of passing beauty.
Through OBVIOUS's unique, bold challenge of reinterpreting kakigori as scent, three fragrances were born, beautiful alone or layered. Like a kakigori you taste through scent, each has its own character, and layering them creates new expressions: a new olfactory sensation.
OBVIOUS's KAKIGORI leads us into a sensual world of scent like no other.
Plum Cream is an avant-garde scent that boldly reinterprets umeboshi, a traditional Japanese food, as perfume.
Umeboshi draws out its savoriness by being slowly steeped in salt. That complex taste inspired an attempt to express umami, known as the fifth taste, in perfume.
Here, salted plum is layered with rum, davana and cistus, fusing the fruit's tartness and sweetness with a leathery, sensual depth. Fruity yet somehow smoky, this edgy, innovative scent spreads on the skin with great character.
Delightful combination - a harmony of scent that shines when layered:
Layering with White Crush is a charming marriage of vivid contrast. Its icy coolness and transparency soften the leather notes into a suppler, suede-like texture. The fruit's radiance stands out, and a faint trail of rose and musk adds refined tenderness.
With this pairing, the scent grows richer, lasts longer, and deepens over time.

The culture of “kakigori” (shaved ice) is said to have begun when snow from Mount Fuji was carefully gathered to bring a cool touch to the summers of the upper classes.
Delicately shaved natural ice, layered with fruit, tea, syrup or condensed milk: this fleeting, poetic sweet is truly a symbol of transient beauty.
For this unique and bold challenge of reinterpreting kakigori as a fragrance,
OBVIOUS partnered with IFF (International Flavors & Fragrances), known as a high-quality fragrance house.
As more and more perfume lovers enjoy layering, we developed three scents that are beautiful on their own and in combination.
Like kakigori you taste with your nose, each one has its own character, and layering them creates a new sense of smell with new expressions.
OBVIOUS's “Kakigori” offers an olfactory experience of a sensuality found nowhere else.
White Crush, inspired by “ice,” and Plum Cream and Dulce de Leche, which express the “syrup” poured over the ice, are each designed to be worn alone, or layered like ice and syrup in kakigori.
Try various proportions and enjoy the kakigori you like best.
