Outsider
A casual western shirt, finished entirely by hand-stitching every part except for the base seams.
Taking three and a half days to complete a single shirt, this piece reflects the designer's obsessive dedication — truly a work deserving of the name "Outsider."
For this Lounge Sai exclusive edition, while following the brand's original design, we have added custom details such as chain stitching around the sleeves and cut-off hems.

手仕事に見えない丁寧な職人仕事
While the eye is naturally drawn to the more obvious hand-stitched details, such as the decorative chain stitching and buttonholes, the true essence of this shirt lies in the less visible craftsmanship.
Even with the prior knowledge that "everything except for the base seams is hand-stitched," what’s truly astonishing is that when you actually hold the shirt and examine it closely, the hand stitching is so precise and clean that it’s almost impossible to tell it was done by hand.
Machine stitching can sometimes add stiffness to a fabric, but here, hand stitching is intentionally used to create a softer, more three-dimensional shape that follows the contours of the body.
Though these differences may not be immediately visible, I believe it's this accumulation of meticulous attention to detail that ultimately makes a profound difference in how the garment feels when worn.
In addition, the triangular sections at both ends of the chest pockets are reinforced using the selvage edge of the fabric, which has been treated to prevent fraying. This not only ensures durability but also serves as a subtle design accent.
It's a detail that reflects the deep understanding of garments and textiles that only a designer experienced in bespoke tailoring could achieve — a piece filled with thoughtful touches throughout.
For this shirt, there are four key changes from the original: the fabric, buttons, decorative chain stitching, and the cut-off finish on the back hem.
We removed the plant motif chain stitching that originally adorned the front and instead added chain stitching along the edges of the cuffs.
Also, for the chain stitching this time, we chose black silk thread. The subtle sheen of the silk stands out beautifully against the dry texture of the fabric.
Additionally, while the original design had the back panel finished in the same way as the front, we had it modified to feature a cut-off finish that matches the cut-off detail on the yoke.
This adjustment gives the shirt not only a refined look but also a subtle sense of casualness, making it a well-balanced piece that can be styled in a variety of ways.
Once the piece arrives, I hope you'll take the time to examine every detail — it's a shirt that will only become more enjoyable the more you appreciate its craftsmanship, especially for those who truly love clothing.
That said, even without focusing on those finer points, it’s a piece that simply looks great when worn.
A one-of-a-kind, ultimate western shirt — I hope you’ll enjoy it.
