The Lounge Sai exclusive Baroque Shorts, first released in the summer of 2024.

These shorts were well received by a great many customers, including those who had rarely worn shorts before. For this 2025 version, we once again asked the brand to release them with updated specifications.

Baroque Shorts Gin and Tonic

Model 181cm / Size M
Styled with Easy Shirt by Aviva Jifei Xue
and Guji by Tachino Chie

While keeping the base silhouette, we have used an extremely soft, wool-linen broken twill from the archive fabrics of a certain textile mill.

The color is black. The ecru cotton fabric peeking out from the hem as an accent is hand-dyed, and the shorts are fully lined with black cupro that feels great against the skin.

As with last year, we have had the hem left as a raw cut edge.

The iconic brass belt buckle is paired with a gold YKK zipper to match.

The horn buttons have also changed: last year's glossy round buttons have been replaced this year with flat, matte black ones.

There are four pockets in total, two at the sides and two at the back, all with double-welt construction.

The belt loops echo the cut-off hem, with one side of each loop left frayed.

Even the parts that are almost never visible when worn quietly do their job properly, and it is details like these that really get to us.

Styling of the Gin and Tonic Baroque Shorts when worn

The soft fabric sways with every step, and with each wear it will mold to you and become even softer.

Pair them with a shirt, or, once the weather turns a little cooler, with a lightweight jacket.

Customers who bought them last year told us things like "I can't wear anything but the Baroque Shorts in summer" and "It's hot, so I keep wearing only these." Besides being cool, they go well with the clothes we already own, making them shorts you can't go back from once you've worn them.

They are a piece for those who missed the chance last summer, or, like me, for those who would like a second pair in a different fabric from last year's Baroque Shorts.

The hot days are still continuing, so we hope you will wear them from now through autumn.
