DseconD: 2023 Fall/Winter Recommended Items and Styling Ideas

Now, the DseconD 2023 Fall/Winter order tour is finally down to just today's online ordering and the pop-up held April 1–2 in Shizuoka, inside Acacia's store.

To everyone who came to the Tokyo and Osaka venues, thank you for such a fun time.

It's still a fairly little-known brand, but I can really feel that, season after season, more and more discerning people are giving it their appreciation and orders, and that makes me so happy.

Now, online ordering starts today, and unlike trying things on in person at an event, you'll mainly be judging from photos and video, so I'd like to share a few outfits where I'm wearing some of my recommended pieces myself.

First, this season's new release, Band Collar Shirts — let's start there.

Yes, this is good.

Good looks, good to wear — both check out.

I'd recommend this maroon color even to people who usually wear a lot of black — it pairs well with darker colors too.

It really feels like a shirt you can't go wrong with.

And then there's the natural version with stripes.

The maroon one I mentioned earlier is nice too, but personally, I really love how beautiful this one is as well.

It has a sleek look.

The Lined Pants I'm pairing with it are also this season's new release — the combination of this natural Band Collar Shirts and Lined Pants is just so beautiful.

By the way, for size, I'm wearing the sample size S in both shirt colors and the pants — the same as what the model is wearing on each product page.

I'm 181cm tall, but M or S always seems to fit me best in DseconD's items.

Next is a look pairing the black Funnel Collar Shirts on the outside, the natural Band Collar Shirts underneath, and the Two Pleats Pants.

At this point, now that the Tokyo and Osaka events are over, these black Funnel Collar Shirts are the most popular item among the tops, and since it's an item that got a fresh update after a long time, I could really feel how much everyone had been waiting for it.

Even though it's technically called a shirt, it feels more like a light outer layer — I've even worn jackets and coats over past Funnel Collar Shirts myself — and while looking good is the top priority, the fact that it's wearable year-round except in summer also makes it really practical, which is a big plus.

In the styling video, I'm also pairing it with a Band Collar Shirt in a different color, but personally, I like styling this piece with a longer shirt or cut-and-sew top underneath.

By the way, I'm also wearing sample size S for this one.

The pants are the Two Pleats Pants , and this one's sample size is XS (about a 29-inch waist) — it fits at the waist, but personally I wanted a bit more length, so I felt I'd want to size up to S to wear it sitting a little lower on the hips.

It's the slimmest pants shape in the brand's lineup, but it doesn't feel like a tight fit — it has a natural taper and pairs really well with ankle boots.

Next is a look with the 3B Jacket, Single Pocket Shirts, and Cropped Pants.

I love how this 3B Jacket still properly feels like a jacket while also having such a relaxed, effortless wearing feel — such a perfect balance that I ordered the spring/summer version.

Underneath is, once again, a real DseconD staple, the Single Pocket Shirts.

This has become a basic for me at this point — I mostly wear this shirt shape.

It's the kind of item you can never have too many of, so whenever it comes out in a fabric you like, go ahead and add another to your collection.

Cropped Pantsare likewise a signature style that's been around since the brand's early days.

A roomy, ankle-length drop-crotch cut in a light fabric that moves and sways as you walk.

If you're looking for this shape in black, this season is the time.

Lately I’ve enjoyed styling that balances casual and refined, and I think this kind of look — casual through the silhouette and raw-cut hems, while the quality of the fabric still shines through no matter how you wear it — is really nice too.

Here I'm wearing size S in the jacket and pants, and size M in the shirt.

Keeping the same Cropped Pants, I switched the shirt to a different color of Single Pocket Shirts, and the jacket to the Classic Blazer in size S.

My approach to styling is much the same as above, but I'm a bit of a contrarian (?) by nature, so when I dress myself, there's something in me that wants to skip polished, good-looking pieces like the Classic Blazer in the first place.

So, rather than the clean, natural shirt, I've paired the Cropped Pants with a softer, slightly more casual maroon Single Pocket Shirts instead.

DseconD Classic Blazer

That said, the styling for the model wearing the Classic Blazer pairs it with the natural Band Collar Shirts and Lined Pants — I came up with that styling myself too — but seeing someone else wear it, I do think a styling that plays up the Classic Blazer's polished, cool look is obviously cool in its own right.

If anything, I think my own way of wearing it might be a bit unconventional, so I hope it can serve as a reference for whenever you feel like dressing it down a little.

And then there's a style that adds the brand's first proper outerwear release, the Hooded Coat , to the look above.

I personally really love this styling.

Centered on a big-silhouette coat that flares out toward the hem, the whole look comes together nicely, almost like it forms a diamond shape overall.

Pairing a good-looking jacket like the Classic Blazer underneath a casual hooded coat also creates a slight mismatch that I personally really like.

When you're actually walking around, leaving the coat fully open makes it flap around, so in those cases I think it's good to make use of the double zip and just open it from around chest height down.

It uses a lot of fabric and is a very heavy coat, but if you're looking for a big coat that can seriously handle the cold of winter, this is worth checking out.

The coat comes in one size only.

Last is a styling with the Long Coat, Work Jacket, Single Pocket Shirts, and Wide Leg Pants.

This time, the fabric of the Wide Leg Pants and the Work Jacket is a material with a softness beneath a stiffness reminiscent of denim mixed with the wool of a padded work vest, and a set-up made from this fabric — with its incredible look that could pass for either gray or brown — is just the best.

Many people bought the spring/summer version as a set too, butDseconD's set-ups look great no matter which jacket and pants you combine, so I'd really encourage you to consider a set-up where the top and bottom come together perfectly at least once.

And layering on top of that kind of set-up with the Long Coat adds even more.

There's really nothing more to say.

That said, with this coat there's a production issue where we can't purchase enough fabric unless order numbers exceed a certain minimum threshold, so even if you place an order, there's a chance production could end up canceled.

And with the current number of orders, I'm sad to say it looks like cancellation is fairly likely, so if you'd like this coat, I hope you'll join me in hoping that everyone orders it, whether online or at the Shizuoka pop-up.

Update, April 3: We're now just one order away from the production threshold, so if you're considering the coat, placing your order will confirm production. Thank you so much!

This has gotten long, but online ordering is open until 23:59 on April 5.

If you have any questions, I, Shimosato, will do everything I can to make sure you can order online with confidence, so if there's anything you're unsure about or you'd like to talk through styling, please reach out by email or DM on social media.

With that, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in Shizuoka this weekend as well.
