Our trusted artisans perform all alterations with careful attention to each piece’s original design, detailing, and fabric characteristics, so you can entrust us with your valued garments with peace of mind.
Examples of Alterations
For instance, we can shorten sleeves that are too long, or lengthen sleeves that are too short, depending on the garment's specifications.
If the waist of a pair of pants is too large, rather than simply reducing the waistline, adjustments are made with careful consideration to balance the overall silhouette — including fine adjustments to the rise and width — to ensure a natural, refined finish.
Below are some examples of alterations we have done in the past:
- Sleeve shortening or lengthening for coats and jackets
- Waist adjustments and hemming/lengthening for pants
- Shortening long shirts to a standard length
- Adjusting the size and depth of pant pocket openings
- Changing hems to a raw edge finish
We may also be able to handle complex alterations that other stores have declined.

Pricing and Turnaround Time
Pricing
The final cost will be determined after we receive and assess the garment, as the complexity and method of each alteration can vary.
However, as a general guideline based on previous cases:
- Simple alterations such as hemming: approximately ¥4,000 (tax included)
- Complex alterations: typically within ¥10,000 (tax included)
Turnaround Time
- Standard period: approximately 2 weeks
- During peak seasons: approximately 3–4 weeks
If you are in a hurry, please let us know. We will do our best to accommodate your request when possible.
How to Request Alterations
Step 1: Initial Inquiry

To ensure a smooth process, we kindly ask you to include the following information:
- Your full name
- Photos of the garment you wish to alter
- Photos clearly showing the specific areas for alteration
Step 2: Estimate
After confirming the details with our artisan, we will provide you with a price estimate.
Step 3: Payment & Shipping
Once you agree to the quote, please proceed with the payment and ship the item to us.
Note: Shipping fees to us are the responsibility of the customer (prepaid). The shipping address will be provided via email.
Step 4: Alteration Process
We will forward the garment to our artisan and manage the alteration process.
Step 5: Return Shipping
Once the alteration is complete, we will ship the garment back to you.
Cancellations
Please note that cancellations cannot be accepted once the alteration process has begun.
Kindly confirm the estimate before proceeding.
Alterations for Non-Lounge Sai Items
In addition to items purchased from Lounge Sai, we also accept alteration requests for garments purchased from other stores.
If you would like to adjust other pieces to coordinate with items from our collection, please feel free to inquire.
However, for customers who have not previously purchased from Lounge Sai, a service fee of ¥3,300 (tax included) will be added to the alteration cost. Thank you for your understanding.

About Our Try-On Service
For items labeled "Try-On Available" on the product page, we offer a service that allows you to try them on at home before deciding to keep them. If the size or fit isn't right, you may request a return or size exchange.
Please read the following guidelines carefully before using this service.

- Add the item you wish to try on to your cart as usual.
- In the Order Notes section, write "Try-On Request".
- Proceed to checkout and complete your purchase.
- Once your order arrives, please try on the item indoors only.

- The Try-On Service is available for customers within Japan only.
- You must contact us within 3 days of receiving the item.
- The item must be unworn (except for trying on indoors), and free from stains, odors (including perfume or smoke), damage, or signs of use.
- All original tags, packaging, and accessories must be included and intact.
- Repeated try-ons and returns of the same item may not be accepted.
We are unable to accept returns or exchanges in the following cases:
- Returns sent without prior notice.
- Items that show signs of use, stains, damage, or odors.
- Missing or damaged tags, packaging, or accessories.
- Made-to-order (custom-order) items.
- Non-clothing items such as fragrances or hygiene products.

About Resizing
If your item doesn't fit perfectly after trying it on, we also offer custom resizing (alterations).
For example, we can adjust sleeve or hem lengths to better suit your measurements.

Domestic Shipping (Japan)
- Free shipping for orders over ¥11,000 (tax included).
- A flat shipping fee of ¥750 (tax included) applies to orders under ¥10,999.
International Shipping
- Free shipping on international orders over ¥80,000 JPY.
- A flat shipping fee of ¥7,700 JPY applies to orders under ¥79,999 JPY.
Please note that due to shipping restrictions, fragrances, body care products and beverages cannot be shipped internationally.

Shipping Carriers
Orders are shipped via Yamato Transport.
Please note that all orders are shipped using minimal packaging to reduce waste.
Dispatch Timing
- Orders are typically dispatched within 3 days of receiving the order.

If, for any reason, dispatch is expected to take longer than 3 days, we will announce this on our website in advance.
Shipping to Okinawa and Remote Islands
For deliveries to Okinawa and other remote islands, fragrances and liquid products (including body scrubs) cannot be shipped by air and will be sent via ground or sea transport.
Please allow approximately one week for delivery to these areas.
Regarding Returned Shipments Due to Incorrect Address, Extended Absence, or Refusal of Delivery
In the event that a shipment is returned to us due to an incorrect address, extended absence, or refusal of delivery, we will handle the matter as follows:
・We will contact you via email or other means. If you wish to have the item reshipped, you will be responsible for the actual cost of additional shipping fees (including round-trip shipping costs and payment processing fees). Once we confirm your reply and payment within 5 days of our notice, we will proceed with reshipment.
・If we do not receive a response within 6 days of our notification, we reserve the right to cancel the order. In such cases, we will not be able to refund the original shipping cost, return shipping cost, or any related payment processing fees.
・If you refuse to accept the delivery without a valid reason, we will charge you for the actual costs incurred, including round-trip shipping, payment processing fees, and packaging material fees. In cases of repeated or malicious refusal, we regret to inform you that we may decline any future orders from you.

Direct Shipping from Brands
Some items may be shipped directly from the brand to your address.
In such cases, we will share your shipping information (name, address, phone number) with the brand for delivery purposes only.

Baroque Shorts
Baroque Shorts that combine not only decorative appearance but also functionality.
Featuring deep curved side slits, a belt with brass buckles, and hand-dyed lining that sways from the hem, these shorts are as practical as they are striking.
For this Lounge Sai exclusive edition, while following the brand’s original design, we chose a fabric that allows the craftsmanship to be felt more vividly and that will develop beautiful character as it is worn over time.






Iconic side slits.
The most iconic feature of this piece is the deep side slits with smooth curves. The gold of the brass buckles stands out beautifully against the sumi-black fabric. Over time, as the buckles are used, they will develop a richer, more substantial character, adding to the overall presence of the piece.
Linen 55%, Cotton 45%
The fabric is a sumi-black with a slight navy undertone. Originally used for horseback riding, it’s a densely woven, durable, and slightly stiff material.
While the original Baroque Shorts were made from a lighter, more refined fabric, we selected this version to bring a bit more ruggedness to the piece — knowing that the brand’s sewing and craftsmanship are always precise and meticulous, we wanted to introduce a texture that adds a touch of rawness to balance that refinement.
Hand-dyed Cupro.
The shorts are fully lined with hand-dyed cupro. The unique unevenness of the dye, along with touches of red, blue, yellow, and other colors scattered throughout, creates a depth that’s only possible through hand-dyeing. The way the lining moves lightly with every step is also beautiful.
The texture is smooth against the skin, making them comfortable to wear.
Although this part is rarely visible, it’s the dedication to such details that elevates these "shorts" into a true "work of art."
Playing with silhouette.
You can adjust the length of the side belts to change the silhouette.
In the default state, they have a relaxed, voluminous silhouette (left), but when the belts are tightened, they shift to a clean, more fitted silhouette (right).

As a detail not found in the original design, this version features hand stitching along the sides, belts, and hems. Naturally, the belt holes and buttonholes are also hand-stitched.
When selecting the fabric, one of the key points was the request to intentionally introduce a sense of "roughness," and the artisans responded to that request through their meticulous handwork.




Rather than simply accepting the imperfections of handcrafting as "character," Gin and Tonic pursues a finish that is "handmade yet as refined as machine-made." This balance — where you can still sense the artisan's touch — is, I believe, what truly defines the brand's essence.
Incidentally, the cut-off hem is a newly introduced detail for this piece.

Gin and Tonic
The brand was launched in 2022. Rather than mass production, each garment is crafted by a single artisan through a bespoke process.
Focusing on the natural characteristics of each fabric, the brand creates silhouettes and designs that follow the contours of the human body, always aiming to produce pieces that feel right to wear in the present moment.
